1.3. The above (1.2) applies to individual lessons. Full payment for group classes and music classes is required at the time of registration.
1.4. New students are required to pay a non-refundable, one-time registration fee of $50, this registration fee also applies to former students who have suspended their lessons for a month or more.
2. Rescheduling Lesson Time
2.1. If there is a need to change the lesson time due to personal reasons, parents or students should notify the Academy at least 48 hours before the scheduled lesson time. Due to limited availability, teachers might need to extend the lesson time accordingly or the lesson might be taught by another teacher. It is best to avoid rescheduling too frequently (not more than once within a month) except for summer holidays (see 2.4).
2.2. For flexible scheduling (e.g., if a student cannot attend class regularly), please inquire about the related fees and arrangements.
2.3. If there is a need to change the lesson time due to illness, parents or students should notify us at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled lesson. In addition, a doctor’s certificate is required for rescheduling. Teachers will arrange a make-up lesson based on their availability or extend the lesson time accordingly.
2.4. For absences due to vacations or travel lasting two weeks or more, parents or students should contact us as early as possible and provide rescheduling options within a two-month period. Online lessons via Zoom are also available as an option.
2.5. Absences without prior notification or failure to meet the above criteria (e.g., last-minute cancellations or inability to provide a doctor’s certificate) will not be eligible for make-up lessons, and paid fees will not be refunded.
2.6. This policy applies to all individual lessons. For music class, each term allows for only one make-up lesson due to either illness or personal reasons.
2.7. If a teacher needs to reschedule a lesson due to illness or personal reasons, we will reschedule the lesson for a later date or assign a substitute teacher.
2.8. The Academy reserves the right to adjust class times and instructors based on the mutual interests and responsibilities of the Academy and students.
3. Withdrawal and Suspension
3.1. If students need to withdraw from individual lessons due to relocation or personal reasons, parents or students (adult students) are encouraged to provide written notice via WhatsApp at least one month before their last lesson (e.g., if the last lesson is on February 28, the notice shall be given by January 28). The teacher will then provide a course evaluation and advice for future music studies.
4. Holidays
4.1. The Academy will be closed on December 25 and 26, and from the first to the third day of the Lunar New Year. Lessons and classes will continue as usual on other public holidays. If students need to take a leave on a public holiday, please notify us at least one week in advance via WhatsApp to arrange for a make-up lesson.
5. Typhoon and Rainstorm Policies
5.1. If the Observatory issues a black rainstorm warning or a signal 8 or above two hours before the scheduled class/lessons, they will be rescheduled accordingly.
5.2. If warnings are lifted before 4 pm, classes/lessons will resume two hours later (e.g., if the warning is lifted at 11 am, classes from 1 pm onwards will proceed as scheduled).
5.3. For safety (e.g. flooding), parents or students may contact us via WhatsApp (91505313) to confirm changes. Absences without notification will be treated as no-shows, and fees will not be refunded.
5.4. If the warning remains in effect after 4 pm, all evening classes/lessons will be rescheduled.
5.5. Please check our Facebook and Instagram for real-time updates. Parents and students can also call or WhatsApp us for confirmation.

6.2. For hygienic reasons, students need to sanitize their hands and remove their shoes before entering the music room. If students suffer from respiratory infection, please wear masks to the Academy. If students feel unwell during class, we will contact parents immediately, and half of the remaining lesson time will be rescheduled.
6.3. Students cannot enter music rooms or use instruments and facilities without staff or teacher permission.
